CYBERSEX ABUSE: A NEW PSYCHOLOGICAL DISORDER
Medical researchers writing in the journal Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity report that cybersex is a new psychological addiction bringing turmoil to the lives of many men and women. Dr. Al Cooper of Stanford University, who has conducted a large and detailed survey of online sex, calls the Internet "the crack cocaine of sexual compulsivity... This is a hidden public health hazard exploding, in part, because very few are recognizing it as such or taking it seriously." The signs of cybersex addiction include: a change in sleep patterns; a demand for privacy; the shunning of other responsibilities: lying; personality changes; lost interest in partner sex; less interest in family."
